Topic: Making Civic Life Make Sense | Civic Beat

What does civic life actually mean to a young person in Hartford?

For many young people, local government, elections, and civic engagement can feel complicated, distant, or difficult to navigate. The Hartford Youth Civic Collective (HYCC) is working to change that — by creating a civic resource hub designed for and by young people in Hartford.

In this episode of Civic Beat, we talk with members of HYCC about what they’ve learned about Hartford, why young people can feel disconnected from civic life, and what it takes to make participation in your city more accessible and meaningful.
