HPATV
accepting MPEG2 files for broadcast server
Hartford Public Access Television began 2006 with a new MPEG-2
video
server to provide the residents of Hartford with the highest
quality broadcast of their programs. Programs must be on DVD
or a MPEG-2
file to transfer to our servers. And we are aware that this
transition is not a simple one for everyone, so please bare
with us.
To assist in the transition, at the station we offer two
SVHS/VHS decks for producers to come down and transfer their
tapes to our server and encode to MPEG-2.
As for producers who already edit on computers at home, we
have found that the following program, MPEG
Streamclip, offers the best way to create a MPEG-2. It
is available for Windows
XP and Mac
OS X. This is a FREE program created by a programmer
in Italy. We have extensively tested it to make certain that
it complies with the standards of our server. Check back soon
and tutorials will be posted on this site.
